The most Famous Theatre in the world

 

The Palais Garnier Theatre is located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. It was named after the architect, Charles Garnier. Built in the 1860’s and 1870’s, this amazing theatre has a seating capacity of 1,979. The Palais Garnier is one of the most famous opera house in the world. It was the home of the Paris Opera and the Paris Opera Ballet.

 

The building also has a  Opera Library-Museum called the Bibliotheque-Musee de l’Opera de Paris. The museum has an unaccompanied tour that is included with the Palais Garnier Tour. Here are some pictures of the inside of the theatre.

Grand Staircase

Pictured below is the ceremonial staircase made out of white marble. The staircase comes together from the left and right sides that forms an entrance to the Grand Foyer.

Grand Foyer

This amazing foyer is 59 feet high, 505 feet long and 42 feet wide and was created for the Paris Society as a drawing room.

Odeon of Herodes Atticus is located the Southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece.

It was built in 161AD by Herodes Atticus completely out of stone. These times are referenced back to the “Roman years’. Many famous performers has used this magnificent stone structure, “Odeon of HerAnten's Festivalodes Atticus” as a venue. Frank Sinatra, Elton John, and Sting have all performed at this ancient theatre. Since the 1950’s, it has been the main venue of the Athen’s Festival. This festival usually starts in May and continues until October every year.  The seating capacity of this amazing theatre is six thousand seats.

Royal Albert Hall’s History

The Royal Albert Hall now sits on what was once the Gore estate. William Wilberforce resided at the estate in the early 1800’s. In the 1830’s to the 1840’s the estate was occupiedRoyal Albert Hall by the Count D’Orsay and Countess of Blessington.

 

Recommended by Prince Albert… It was bought by the Royal Commission and called, “Albertopolis”.
The Science Museum, Imperial College, and Natural History Museum is located there today

 

On May 20, 1867 Queen Victoria placed a foundation stone made of red Aberdeen granite. This stone can be found at the k stalls in row 11, seat 87 at the main auditorium. She placed the granite there in honor of Prince Albert’s passing

Our feature theatre today takes us to Mumbai, India.

Established in 1969 with the desire to preserve  and showcase  the country’s heritage of Indian and international theatre, dance, and music.  The National Centre For The Performing Arts accommodates over 600 performances each and every year.

 

The National Centre For The Performing Arts was founded by JDR Tata and Dr Jamshed Bhabha. They wanted to create a world class performing arts theatre in India.  This theatre is a spectacular venue and one of the largest performing arts centre in India today.

 

The structure was built on land reclaimed from the ocean fifty years ago. Here is one of Mumbai’s highly sought after landmarks to experience. It is located at Nariman Point, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400021, India.

The Theatre feature for today is The Center For The Arts located in Grass Valley, Nevada County. The Center For The Arts facility is 21,000 square foot in total space.  Their space is divided into a 300 seat main theatre, 2 visual art studios, and a 90 seat black box theatre.  The building was remodeled in 2003 with new bathrooms, upstairs dance studio, and the off center stage.  Their address is 314 west main street, Grass Valley, CA, 95945.

Court Street TheatreCourt Street Theatre

14 street court theatre was originally built as a central firehouse in 1870.   The building was renovated in 1971 to accommodate the Nashua Arts and Science Center.   Over the years, this unique building has served the Nashua Symphony Orchestra, theatrical, and dance companies.

Seating capacity is 150 and serves the downtown atmosphere of Nashua with theatrical magnificence.   This theatre has been serving the community of Nashua for 45 years.
